(If you are already a Flight Instructor, your licence issuing authority may use the abbreviation &#8220;FI-IR&#8221;, instead of &#8220;IRI&#8221;, to designate the privileges.) Get in touch if you are interested to make sure you don&#8217;t miss the train&#8211;such instructor courses are not scheduled every year!<\/p>\n<h3>Theoretical Training<\/h3>\n<p>The theoretical training consists of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>15 h of teaching and learning studies<\/li>\n<li>10 h of technical training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you already are an FI(A) holder, you are exempted from the 15-hour Teaching and Learning module. Others will need either to attend it or produce a certificate of having completed the same in an another ATO.<\/p>\n<p>Exceptionally, this is organised as <strong>on-site classroom training only<\/strong>, i.e. you cannot attend this training remotely via a video link.<\/p>\n<h3>Practical Flight Training<\/h3>\n<p>The practical flight training consists of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 h of flights on DA40 and\/or FNPT II mimicking the DA42.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>FI(A) holders get credit for five (5) of the above hours, leaving only five (5) hours to be flown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Privileges and Conditions in Short<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The privileges of FIs include<\/span>: to conduct flight instruction for the issue, revalidation or renewal of a BIR or an IR for aeroplanes, provided that the FI meets the following conditions:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1) they have completed as student pilots the IRI training course and have passed an assessment of competence for the IRI certificate;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(3) if during an approved training course at an ATO, the FI is providing training <strong>in FSTDs or supervising SPIC training flights<\/strong> that take place under IFR, the FI shall have completed <strong>at least 50 hours of flight time under IFR <em>after<\/em> the issuance of the BIR or the IR, of which a maximum of 10 hours may be instrument ground time<\/strong> in an FFS, an FTD 2\/3 or an FNPT II;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(4) if the FI is providing training in an aircraft, the FI shall have completed <strong>at least 200 hours of flight time under IFR, of which up to 50 hours may be instrument ground time<\/strong> in an FFS, an FTD 2\/3 or an FNPT II.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Applicants for an IRI certificate, who are not FI holders<\/span>, shall,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>to provide training in FSTDs<\/u> during an approved training course at an ATO, have completed <strong>at least 200 hours of flight time under IFR <em>after<\/em> the issuance of the BIR or the IR<\/strong>, of which at least 50 hours shall be in aeroplanes;<\/li>\n<li><u>to provide training in an aeroplane<\/u>, have completed <strong>at least 800 hours of flight time under IFR<\/strong>, of which at least 400 hours shall be in aeroplanes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>This is a pre-announcement of course under development.
